Black and White Flower #8

This flower was a blast to create because I got to use a black and white chevron fabric!  I fussy cut the pieces so the top of the chevron would go down the middle of the petal.  I applied the chevron pieces to their individual petals before applying them to the background fabric.

Here's the first layer all stitched up.  I decided to stitch around the chevron pieces in black instead of white.  If you look at the tip of the chevron piece you can see that it is black.  I didn't want to have white thread up at the tip, but the black stitching.

And the back of layer one:

Layer two was a blast because I got to see the chevron pieces all come together!  How much fun it is that they look almost connected.  Your eye almost connects them for you.  Now I want to go out and buy more chevron fabrics (Uh, oh!).

The back of layer two:

The flower is now complete with it's final dot in the center.  It was so much fun fussy cutting this dot for this flower.  I was glad there was a little extra black around the edge so that my stitches hid well,  If not, I probably would've stitched it in white.

The back of layer three:

I hope you get to quilt today!
