Another Item off the List of Goals/Dreams

Today my friends and I got a VERY important email.  We won some kind of award in International Quilt Festival Houston, the largest and one of the most prestigious quilt shows in the USA.  They won't reveal what it is until the awards ceremony in November.

Last year, I won my first ribbon at International Quilt Festival, an honorable mention for Harmony's Loop (shown below).

The quilt that won this year, Midnight Dreams, is a group quilt some very talented ladies and I have been working on for five years.  Yes, you read that right.  FIVE years.  It did take some time off at points, but it's been a long and wonderful process.

The BEST part is that all four of us will be at the awards ceremony in Houston to receive our award together.  I'm not sure we've been together ever except when we're in Houston for Festival, so that seems appropriate.  One item on my list of dreams is to accept an award in Houston in person.  I wasn't able to last year.  This year, I get to.  The best part?  My mother, and amazing friends Lori and Janell will be there with me.  I can't wait!  Is it November yet???

I know, I know.  You want to see the quilt.  ME TOO!  I haven't seen it completed yet except for in a photo and we know photos never do them justice.  You'll have to wait until November when I will be sure to post MANY photos of it and us!

I hope you get to quilt today!
