Patterns by Jen's Monthly Color Challenge - ORANGE!

I must admit that when I signed up to be a part of this challenge what drew me was the color....orange.  It's my favorite bright, loud, obnoxious color.  Perhaps that's why I like it so much.  It just screams vibrancy to me.

I decided to make my block from all Island Batik fabrics since they're sponsoring this month's challenge.  The background fabric is from their Pumpkin Patch Line.  I'm not sure which line the other two are from.  Island Batiks are so great to work with.

I decided to make my own block for the challenge.  Here's a look at bigger pieces of the fabrics I chose.  I know the bottom one has more than orange, but orange is definitely the predominant color and I'll try to get the orangiest sections.

I cut my pieces.

I sewed them together.

I made sure the block worked....lol.

And I finished sewing it!

The prize for this month is Island Batik's Pumpkin Patch Line!  You'll get fat eighths.

Be sure to check out the other blogs this month:

I hope you quilt today!

  6. I love your block and use of orange. It is neat how the light fabric made it look like a circle and the spin effect.
